Supported accommodation

WindowFry Housing Trust offers supported accommodation to people who are homeless and at risk of offending. We work with clients to help them ultimately move into independent accommodation. Fry Housing Trust offers a range of residential support, allowing greater independence to live a more settled life with increased life choices.

How long can I live with or be supported by Fry Housing Trust?

Clients can live within a Fry Housing Trust scheme for up to two years. If you are supported by Birmingham floating support, then the limit is six months, although this can be extended if you can provide evidence that you need further support.

What are the ‘rules’ when living in a Fry Housing Trust property?
  • These are called communal living codes and will vary depending on which scheme you are in. They usually include the following rules:
  • No persons under the age of 18 on the premises at any time
  • Visitors must leave the premises by 11pm Monday – Thursday
  • Only one visitor per resident may stay over at the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Visitors are limited to two per resident at any time
  • Alcohol is not to be consumed in communal areas and only in moderation in private areas
  • Smoking is not permitted in communal areas.
What will be provided in my room?

Items vary from scheme to scheme, but rooms usually contain the following:

  • Carpet or other flooring
  • Curtains and blind fixtures
  • Fridge freezer and a kettle
  • Wardrobe, chest of drawer and a bedside table
  • Single bed and mattress with duvet, pillow, sheets and duvet cover
  • Common kitchen utensils, including crockery, cutlery and saucepan.
