Estates Week (22-25 May)

We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand at our first ever Estates Week. Click here to find out how you can get involved.

Fry Voices Together

Fry Housing Trust holds a bi-monthly forum for clients from across the Trust called Fry Voices Together (FVT). Clients are invited to meet to discuss various topics and agendas including:

  • Staff recruitment - finding out what clients want from their staff
  • Overcoming unemployment through job opportunities and volunteering
  • Reviewing clients’ changing needs and how Fry Housing Trust can adapt to meet them
  • Improving how support plans are put together
  • Finding new ways to improve general services
  • Client feedback to help shape policies and procedures.

What is FVT?

FVT was started in 2007 for anybody receiving support from Fry Housing Trust. Meetings are held every two months and are an opportunity for clients to come together to help shape the service that they receive. There is always a meeting agenda that anybody can add to. FVT is also used as a social gathering where clients can meet others from across the organisation and allows the Trust to gain feedback and consult with clients to improve its service.

In 2009, FVT was recognised as a ‘great scheme’ by the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) and in 2010, FVT won the Accord Group's 'Group of the Year' award at inaugural Great Residents Awards.

What happens with the information given at FVT?

The information gathered from FVT meetings is forwarded to the Fry Housing Trust Board and then to the Accord Group panel for review. Minutes and suggestions from meetings are posted in our client newsletter, which is sent to you every two months.

What else can I gain from coming to an FVT meeting?

Not only will you meet new people by attending but you will have the opportunity to come up with ideas for events for everyone to take part in. Past events have included a five-a-side football tournament for clients and staff.

If you would like more information about FVT or how you can get involved, contact Resident Engagement Manager, Michelle Martin, on 02476 347 330 or email michelle.martin@fryha.org.uk
